The Miami Marlins, wallowing in last place in the National League East at 35-47, received the minimum one All-Star pick on Sunday when rookie lefty Trevor Rogers was named to the NL squad.

Rogers, who had a 4.33 earned-run average in his 28 innings in 2020, has a 2.14 ERA and has not allowed more than three runs in a start this season.

He has a 1.040 WHIP and is 7-5 with a better than 3-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio in his 92 1/3 innings.

After Sunday’s games, Marlins outfielder Adam Duvall was leading the NL with 60 RBIs, but his .230 batting average and sub-.800 on-base-plus-slugging percentage (OPS) likely kept him from the Mid-Summer Classic.

Rogers and Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia were the only rookies selected for the game, which will be held on Tuesday, July 13 at Coors Field in Denver.
