Funeral services for former first lady Rosalynn Carter, who died at the age of 96 on Nov. 19, begin Monday, Nov. 27 in Sumter County, Ga.

The memorial services and funeral will be broadcast by major television networks and streamed online when services begin.

Monday services conclude, public invited to pay respects

Monday's scheduled events concluded with the end of the service at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum.

Rosalynn Carter will lie in repose through the evening and the public is invited to pay respects to the former first lady from 6-10 p.m.

Services continue Tuesday at Glenn Memorial Church at Emory University from 1-2:30 p.m.

Rosalynn Carter's casket was carried into The Carter Center just after 3:15 p.m. Monday by a color guard with representatives from each branch of the U.S. Military. On the way into the center, Carter's casket was walked past family standing on the sidewalk. The casket was donned with an elaborate flower arrangement that included sunflowers and other shades of pink, blue and white.

The repose service began with a prayer and an introduction, with a biographical overview of Carter, from Paige Alexander, CEO of the Carter Center.

Former Carter Center CEO John Hardman then spoke about his experiences with Rosalynn Carter and her involvement in the Carter Center.

Family motorcade, hearse arrives at the Carter Center in Atlanta | 3:15 p.m.

After two brief ceremonies in Americus on Monday morning, the Carter family motorcade has arrived in Atlanta for a repose service in lobby of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum.

The public is invited to pay respects at the library while the former first lady lies in repose.

Jimmy Carter update for Tuesday service in Atlanta

Jimmy Carter is expected to attend a tribute service for his wife Rosalynn Carter Tuesday in Atlanta at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church on the campus at Emory University, a spokesperson for The Carter Center confirmed.

'Very comfortable that she is resting'

Ahead of the motorcade arrival in Atlanta, Meredith Evans, director of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library & Museum, said Rosalynn Carter was always very thoughtful. When Evans did her final interview with Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter, she said Rosalynn Carter spent time asking about her son, Evan."It was very personal," Evans said, "less an interview and more like 'lets be friends.'"Evans called The Carter Center a "home away from home" for the family. Rosalynn Carter will lie in repose at The Carter Center on Monday."It's bittersweet, but I feel very comfortable that she is resting," Evans said.

Wreath-laying ceremony at Georgia Southwestern State University | 11 a.m.

The Carter family motorcade arrived at the GSW campus, where GSW President Neal Weaver and RCI CEO Jennifer Olsen placed wreaths at the statue of Rosalynn Carter, who attended GSW from 1945-46.

After the brief ceremony concluded, the motorcade continued to The Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta, wehre an arrival ceremony is expected to begin at 3:15 p.m.

Hearse departs medical center, en route to Georgia Southwestern State | 10:40 a.m.

Rosalynn Carter's casket was moved to the hearse at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center. A short ceremony where pallbearers escorted the hearse through part of the medical campus followed. Several Carter family members attended. Former President Jimmy Carter was not shown on the FOX 5 live broadcast.

The hearse, along with the rest of the family motorcade, departed for GSW for a wreath-laying ceremony.

Carter family motorcade arrives at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus | 10:25 a.m.

Led by Georgia State Patrol, the family motorcade — with Secret Service in tow — arrived at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center where the body of Rosalynn Carter will be transported to a hearse before going to a wreath-laying ceremony at Georgia Southwestern State University.

There will be a brief ceremony at the medical center.

Update on former President Jimmy Carter's attendance

"He wants to be here, and we'll see as the day goes on," said Paige Alexander, CEO of the Carter Center, on FOX 5 live broadcast just after 10 a.m. Monday. The Carter family motorcade is expected to arrive at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus around 10:25 a.m. before heading to a wreath-laying ceremony at Georgia Southwestern State University.

10:25 a.m.: The Carter family motorcade will arrive at Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus. Carter’s remains will be transferred to a hearse, accompanied by past and present members of her U.S. Secret Service detail.

10:40 a.m.: The motorcade will depart the grounds of the medical center on a public route to nearby Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus. The public is invited to pay respects along the motorcade route, which will be shared later.

11 a.m.: Motorcade arrives at the Rosalynn Carter Health and Human Sciences Complex at Georgia Southwestern State University, where wreaths will be laid.

11:15 a.m.: Motorcade departs for The Carter Presidential Center in Atlanta.

3:15 p.m.: Arrival ceremony at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum.

3:30 p.m.: Repose service in lobby of the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum.

6-10 p.m.: The Carter family invites members of the public to pay their respects as Carter lies in repose at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum. Parking and a shuttle will be available at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 435 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta.

TUESDAY, NOV. 28: Carter Center Departure Ceremony and Tribute Service

11:30-11:45 a.m.: Carter Presidential Center departure ceremony. Motorcade proceeds to Glenn Memorial Church at Emory University.

1-2:30 p.m.: Tribute service at Glenn Memorial Church at Emory University with invited guests.

WEDNESDAY, NOV. 29: Funeral service and interment

10:55 a.m.: The funeral procession arrives at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains.

11 a.m.: A service for family and invited friends takes place at the church.

12:30 p.m.: The casket will be transferred to a hearse and depart for private interment at the Carter family residence.

The public is welcome to line the family motorcade route as it proceeds from the church, down Bond Street, and along Hwy. 280 in downtown Plains. Viewing areas will be designated. Everyone is expected to respect private property and park only in designated areas.
