Rosatom officials appropriate salaries of Ukrainian employees of Zaporizhzhya NPP, says HUR

Employees of Russian state nuclear energy company Rosatom are “laundering” the money allocated for the management of the Zaporizhzhia NPP by drawing up false financial documents in the names of the plant’s Ukrainian employees.

At the same time, legitimate financial statements are not being drawn up or submitted, the HUR said.

“The money that was intended to pay for the work of the station’s staff is being appropriated by the occupation administration and Rosatom employees,” the intelligence agency said.

There are currently about 500 invaders at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, according to the HUR, 200 of whom are followers of Chechen warlord Ramzan Kadyrov and belong to the Akhmat battalion. Their main task is to intimidate the personnel and induce them to cooperate with the occupiers.

The HUR also added that about 300 mines had been found in the industrial zone of the station, which were left behind by the units of the occupiers when they left the station.

FSB officers who arrived at the scene spread information that these were allegedly “hideouts of subversive units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the intelligence agency added.

Earlier it was reported that employees of Zaporizhzhya NPP were to be persuaded to sign contracts with Rosatom.

Ukraine’s nuclear operator Energoatom dismissed the deputy chief engineer of Zaporizhzhya NPP, Yuriy Chernychuk, who also served as the station’s chief engineer.

He was dismissed because of his cooperation with the invaders.
