Rose receives record number of applications

Nov. 15—Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology announced it received a record number of applications for the fall 2024 semester.

The institution had 4,400 applications by the Nov. 1 early action deadline, marking a 20% increase over last year, and a 50% increase over three years ago, a release said.

Consistently recognized for its excellence in STEM, Rose-Hulman was recently named one of the "Best Colleges in America" by the Wall Street Journal, ranking No. 17 in its debut on the list. U.S. News and World Report ranked Rose-Hulman No. 1 in undergraduate engineering education for the 25th straight year.

"This surge in interest is a reflection of Rose-Hulman's well-established reputation as a top-tier institution in STEM education," said Tom Bear, vice president for enrollment management, in the release. "Despite a nationwide trend of declining enrollment in higher education, there remains strong demand for the high-quality STEM education that Rose-Hulman provides. With state-of-the-art learning facilities and a strong emphasis on learning outcomes, Rose-Hulman is the perfect choice for students who want to succeed in STEM fields."
