Rosebud Closes For 2-Day Cleaning After Employee Tests Positive

LEMONT, IL — Rosebud in Lemont will be closed Monday and Tuesday for cleaning and sanitation, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page. The restaurant told Patch that an employee tested positive five days after their last shift at the restaurant.

"We have no reason to believe the employee had the virus while working at the restaurant," the business said.

No other employees have had symptoms or tested positive. Employees have their temperatures taken at every shift, the restaurant said.

The restaurant said the cleaning and closing is "a precautionary step" and it voluntarily closed to sanitize and keep customers and staff safe.

The restaurant said it will clean with an EPA approved solution which provides 90 days of protection against viruses, including the coronavirus, bacteria, fungi and other microorganisms.

"This sanitizing spray is water based, EPA-approved, and safe to use; even safe enough to use on children's toys," the restaurant said on its Facebook. "Our focus and hope is to ensure that all of our customers and employees are safe and healthy. We are committed to keeping our dining rooms open and are ensuring that can happen through constant monitoring and re-evaluation of our sanitation protocol and procedures."

The restaurant will reopen on Wednesday.
