Rosen Hotels & Resorts have shifted into storm mode and rates as Tropical Storm Idalia forms and is expected to become a hurricane as it approaches Florida. Seven properties have activated the company’s “Florida resident distress rates.”

The room rate for four of its hotels — Rosen Inn International, Rosen Inn Pointe Orlando, Rosen Inn Lake Buena Vista and Rosen Inn Closest to Universal — is $69 per night.

The distress rate for Rosen Plaza is $99 per night, and the rate for Rosen Centre is $109 per night. Rosen Shingle Creek is $129 per night. These rates do not include taxes.

“The safety of our guests, our associates and families across Florida is something we will go to great lengths to protect,” Harris Rosen, founder and chief operating officer of Rosen Hotels, said in news release.

The offer requires proof of residency in affected areas. The rates are offered when a tropical storm or hurricane warning is in effect for impacted areas in Florida and remains in effect while situation is threatening, Rosen says. Rates also are offered to people who are displaced after a storm.

Rosen Hotels & Resorts does not charge a pet fee during the distress-rate period.
