Rossmoor Woman's Club Holiday Home Tour Falls Victim To COVID-19

ROSSMOOR, CA —For the past 30 years, the first Sunday in December has been a busy day for the Rossmoor Woman’s Club, but this year is very different.

As a result of the COVID-19 virus, the club has experienced a record number of fundraiser cancelations. Though the Woman's Club hoped to hold their largest annual fundraiser, the 2020 Holiday Home Tour, that event was canceled. In the spring, their second-largest fundraiser, the annual Spring Garden Tour, was canceled in May due to coronavirus concerns. The smaller planned December Holiday Boutique was also canceled due to the pandemic.

All net proceeds from these fundraisers allow the RWC to support local charities and award academic grants and scholarships to Los Alamitos High School seniors.

"The money RWC would have raised this year is gravely needed as local charities are facing increased demands with decreasing funds," spokeswoman Michelle Loya tells Patch.

To help local charities with these hardships, the Rossmoor Woman’s Club asks for your help with a virtual fundraiser.

"Please consider making a gift donation to The Holiday Home Tour from the Heart so we can continue to provide help for our community," Loya said. "Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated."

Donations may be sent to Rossmoor Woman’s Club, P.O. Box 357, Los Alamitos, CA 90720.
