A project to improve nine roads is set to begin this summer in Round Rock.

The Round Rock City Council on April 27 approved a $6.5 million street maintenance contract with Cutler Repaving, Inc. The company will repair portions of Greenlawn Boulevard, Double Creek Drive, Sam Bass Road, Cypress Boulevard, McNeill Road, Sundance Parkway, La Frontera Boulevard, Parker Drive and Short Trail, city officials said.

The total cost of the improvements is $6,543,342 and will be paid through the city's revenue from Type B sales tax. Improvements include laying new asphalt on the streets and fixing any potholes, curbs or sidewalks.

The project is part of the city's Transportation Department street maintenance program.
