Round Rock opens enrollment for out-of-district students

As part of a pilot program, 15 Round Rock schools have opened enrollment to students outside district boundaries.

Applications for out-of-district enrollment opened on Monday and will be open through July 31.

Applicants can choose from the following 13 elementary schools and two middle schools:

  • Berkman Elementary

  • Bluebonnet Elementary

  • Caldwell Heights Elementary

  • Canyon Creek Elementary

  • Deep Wood Elementary

  • Forest North Elementary

  • Pond Springs Elementary

  • Redbud Elementary

  • Robertson Elementary

  • Teravista Elementary

  • Union Hill Elementary

  • Voigt Elementary

  • Wells Branch Elementary

  • C.D Fulkes Middle School

  • Pearson Ranch Elementary

The campuses picked for the pilot program are projected to be below 70% capacity, district officials said.

District officials approved the pilot program on June 16 to increase enrollment for the 2022-23 academic school year. The program was approved by a 4-0 vote. Trustee Jun Xiao was not present and Trustees Mary Bone and Danielle Weston left the meeting prior to the vote.

Applications will be evaluated based ona student’s past attendance, discipline, grades, and campus staff and space availability.

The program will give priority tostudents already living in the district who may want to attend another school.

Accepted out-of-district students may attend their school of choice until the highest grade level offered.
