Roundabout can't come fast enough for these two drivers

Jul. 8—NORWALK — It's something we've seen so many times in the past.

A car heading north on Greenwich Milan Townline Road approaches Summit Motorsports Park.

The road changes names to Ohio 601 at the intersection of Ohio 18, but the results so many times stay the same.

A car with North Carolina plates heading north toward the racetrack ran the stop sign and hit the side of a car headed east on Ohio 18, according to officials on the scene.

The woman in the car heading east on Ohio 18 was taken to the North Central EMS ambulance with what appeared to be non-serious injuries, while the four occupants of the other car refused treatment.

The driver of the car heading north told a Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper he looked to his left and said "there's the racetrack, and didn't see the stop sign."

The corner has been the site of many accidents over the years, prompting Ohio Department of Transportation officials to begin plans for a roundabout next year. A roundabout was placed at the intersection of Ohio 601 and U.S. 20 last year. That was another location of frequent accidents on the Ohio 601 corridor, which includes Ohio 601 and Ohio 61.
