Roundup: Cline helps Lakewood girls basketball edge Heath

Maddy Cline scored seven of her 13 points in the fourth quarter Monday, sealing Lakewood's 62-57 victory against visiting Heath in Licking County League-Cardinal Division play.

Camryn Martindale added 10 points for the Lancers (9-12, 7-8), who had a balanced attack. Grace Sturgell scored all eight of her points in the fourth quarter, and Charlee Palmer also scored eight points with Madison Clem and Emma McLean contributing seven apiece.

All four scorers for the Bulldogs (6-15, 5-10) hit double figures. Taliyah Holmes scored 13 of her game-high 20 points in the fourth quarter, and Caroline Robertson added 14 points, Allie Dunlap 13 and Corinne Ault 10.

Stirling qualifies for state

Zenna Stirling placed third at 125 pounds on Sunday for Watkins Memorial during the district tournament at Olentangy Orange to qualify for Ohio High School Wrestling Coaches Association state tournament.

Stirling finished 3-1 with three pins. She competes Saturday and Sunday at Hilliard Davidson.

Emma Watkins (140) won two matches by pin and placed sixth. Taylor Evec (110), who also placed sixth, and Claire Campbell (170) each won one match by pin.
