BOYS BASKETBALL

Valley 89, Paint Valley 63: Although the Bearcats suffered a difficult loss to Valley while on the road, there was a silver lining. Dax Estep became the latest Paint Valley player to log his name in the history books. The senior recorded his 1,000th career point on Saturday and led the Bearcats with a towering 23 points and seven rebounds.

Despite Estep's efforts, Paint Valley was outgunned. Two Valley players, Jace Copley and Colt Buckle, combined for 52 points and 10 assists and outpaced Paint Valley on the floor. Cole Miller also ended the night in double figures after notching 17 points, but it wasn't enough. Paint Valley fell behind and suffered just its third loss to a nonconference opponent.

Adena 70, Huntington 59: The Warriors and Huntsmen both hit the road and traveled to Knightstown, Indiana, for a neutral-site matchup at The Hoosier Gym on Saturday. The Warriors managed to shake a two-game skid and returned home with a double-digit victory under their belts. Davis Kerns and Joedy Ater both exploded during the game, as they ended the night with 23 points and 22 points respectively.

Huntington still put up a respectable performance, however. Caiden Stewart once again provided consistency on offense after posting double figures for the third game in a row. KB Perkins earned a double-double after recording 13 points and 13 rebounds, while Maddox Fox closed out the game with 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks.

Brent McGuire led Piketon in scoring after posting 23 points on Friday, and was one of two Piketon players to score in double figures. He was followed by Declan Davis, who tallied 10 points.
