Roundup: Lakewood boys basketball beats Millersport for first victory

The Lakewood boys basketball team hit seven 3-pointers to fuel the offense Tuesday in a 48-36 victory against visiting Millersport.

Zach Cramer and Aidan Bowman scored 11 points apiece to lead a balanced attack for the Lancers (1-10). Adam Crawford hit a trio of 3-pointers for nine points, and Nate Lee added seven points.

Trey Johnston led the Lakers with 19 points.

Utica edges Valley

Roman Gamble scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter, helping Utica outlast host Licking Valley 59-55 for a Licking County League victory.

Seth Cooper scored 16 points for Utica (10-3, 4-3), which outscored the Panthers 16-11 in the fourth quarter. Trenton Collins added 14 points and Beau Dunlap 13.

Dillan Stewart scored 11 of his game-high 20 points in the third quarter for the Panthers (6-8, 3-4). Colby Stough added 18.

Granville pulls away from NC

Dante Varrasso hit a trio of 3-pointers in an 11-point third quarter, sparking Granville in a 63-45 victory against visiting Newark Catholic in LCL play.

Varrasso totaled a game-high 23 points. Max Rosinski added 10 points, Colt Shaw nine and Alex Engle eight for the Blue Aces (7-5, 6-1).

Cole Canter scored nine points and Joe Stanley eight for the Green Wave (3-8, 1-7).

McLaughlin breaks Heath mark

Brandon McLaughlin became Heath's all-time leading scorer, passing Denton Jacob, totaling 21 points and now sitting at 1,248 for the Bulldogs in a 79-43 victory at Watkins Memorial in LCL play.

Reece Huber matched McLaughlin's 21 as the Bulldogs (10-2, 8-0) outscored the Warriors 28-11 in the third quarter. Josh Guy added 11 points and Keylan Williams 10.

Caleb Wheeler led the Warriors (3-8,with 13 points, and Sam Johnson added a trio of 3-pointers for nine.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Northridge falls on road

Reese Callan hit a trio of 3-pointers, totaling nine points for Northridge in a 54-32 loss at Highland.

Darla Dorman added eight points for the Vikings (2-12).
