The metro-east baseball season continued with several games Monday and Tuesday.

Centralia 9, Althoff 7

The Orphans got past the Crusaders with a two-run win.

Centralia improved to 6-2 overall, 3-0 in the South Seven Conference. Althoff, coming off an 11-4 win against Metro-East Lutheran, fell to 5-6, 0-3.

Waterloo 6, Freeburg 5

Evan Davis drove in three runs in helping the Bulldogs defeat the Midgets.

The Comets downed the Eagles with a four-run win.

Columbia 13, Breese Central 1

The Eagles blew past the Cougars with a 12-run victory.

Columbia, coming off a 10-0 win against Gibault, improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in the Mississippi Division of the Cahokia Conference. Breese Central, which defeated Okawville 15-0 on Monday, fell to 4-5, 1-2.

Lucas Riebeling and Alex Schreckenberg led Columbia with two hits and four RBI each. Zane Schrage paced the Cougars with one hit and one run.

Dominic Voegele pitched five innings for the win while posting strikeouts.

Caleb Guthrie led Belleville East with one hit and one RBI. Owen Kelly won the game while notching eight strikeouts.

Triad 11, Salem 8 (Monday)

The Knights outslugged the Wildcats for a three-run win.
