Roundup: Newark Catholic's Keck takes fifth in OHSAA regional discus

Erin Keck threw a distance of 105-feet-4 in the discus Friday to place fifth, leading the Newark Catholic girls track team during the Division III regional championships at Chillicothe Southeastern.

Teammate Ilana O'Neill followed in sixth (103-11), and Gabby Layton also placed sixth in the 400 (1:01.42).

MaryGrace Richardson, Macey Myers, Paige Green and Mary Capretta placed eighth in the 800 relay (1:55.91), and Natalie Jungers finished ninth (6:01.00) and Maria Geiger 11th (6:19.39) in the 1,600.

In the boys meet, Kyle Langenbrunner placed sixth in the 100 (11.38), and Langenbrunner, Gabe Carlisle, Caden Cecil and Ryan Ricciardo placed eighth in the 800 relay (1:36.02).
