Roundup: Olivia Dumm records 500th career strikeout for Westfall

SOFTBALL

Westfall 13, Paint Valley 3: Olivia Dumm notched 500th career strikeout on Wednesday as she helped the Mustangs to a win over the Bearcats in Bainbridge. Dumm pitched just one and two-thirds innings, but she picked up four strikeouts and didn't allow a hit or walk in that span.

Makayla Cook spearheaded the offense after going 4-for-4 with a home run, a double, four RBIs and two runs. Grace Long went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and a run, and Emma Henry logged two hits, two RBIs and a run. Ava Heath logged two hits with a run and an RBI, Sydney Fuller picked up a hit and two runs and Delana Landefeld tallied one hit and one run.

Sophia Stauffer and Delainey Mannion each notched one hit and one run for the Bearcats, and Carlee Spurlock went 1-for-2. Kyla Littler scored a run, and Kasarah Cantrell picked up a hit.

Chillicothe 14, McClain 7: The Cavaliers batted around and bashed the Tigers for their second-straight Frontier Athletic Conference win on Wednesday. Julie Lemaster hit two home runs, batted in three runs and scored three times, and Mikayla Spaulding went 3-for-4 with a home run, a triple, four RBIs and a run.

Morgan Webb also hit a home run, and she ended the game with an RBI and three runs. Bella Riffe went 1-for-3 with a run, while Madison Harrod tallied an RBI and a run. Alyssa Dudley went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run.

Unioto 6, Piketon 0: Hannah Hull pitched another complete game as the Shermans notched a shutout win over the Redstreaks on Wednesday. Hull allowed just five hits through all seven innings and struck out six batters along the way.

Morgan Daniels went 3-for-4 with a double and a run for the Shermans, while Alexis Book went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs. Megan Miller went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run, and Ava Dettwiller piled on a hit and an RBI. Emma Specht logged an RBI and a run, while Amaris Betts and Halle Uhrig each picked up a hit.

Camryn Campbell also pitched a complete game for the Redstreaks, striking out nine and allowing three earned runs on nine hits.

BASEBALL

Zane Trace 10, Southeastern 1: Dillon Hoover earned his first win on the mound after helping the Pioneers to a win over the Panthers on Wednesday. Hoover pitched six innings and allowed four hits and one run while striking out nine in the win.

Gunnar McCullough led Zane Trace on offense after going 3-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs. Blake Phillips notched a hit and three RBIs, and Austen Ison hit a triple and batted in a run. Landen Jarrell went 2-for-5 with a double and also batted in a run.

Joey Pfeifer led the Panthers at the plate, logging two hits with a double and an RBI.

Chillicothe 12, McClain 2: The Cavaliers cruised to a five-inning win over the Tigers on Wednesday behind a complete game from Jacob Lemaster. He allowed just one hit throughout the game and picked up seven strikeouts along the way.

Jack Oyer picked up two hits with a double and two RBIs, while Mason Brown also logged two hits with a double. Brown also batted in two runs and scored three times. Dom Barron pitched in two hits, two RBIs and a run, and Ayden Hutchison added on two hits with an RBI and two runs. Coen Butler ended the game with a single and an RBI, and Mason Siberell hit a double and scored two runs.

Unioto 11, Piketon 2: The Shermans rebounded from their Tuesday loss with a win over the Redstreaks on Wednesday. Andrew Griffin went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs, and Landyn Patterson went 2-for-3 with a triple, a double, two RBIs and two runs. Isaiah Leeth hit a double of his own and batted in two runs, while Keegan Snyder logged a hit, a run and three RBIs.

KB Perkins got the win on the mound for the Shermans. Perkins pitched four innings and struck out nine while allowing five hits and one earned run.

Cayde Conley led the Redstreaks after going 2-for-3 and scoring both runs. Christian Horn hit a double and batted in a run. Wayde Fout, Garrett Legg and Gage Dofflemyer also recorded hits for the Redstreaks.

Huntington 5, Adena 2: The Huntsmen logged their fifth-straight win after staving off the visiting Warriors on Wednesday. DJ Crocker pitched a complete game, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out eight. Crocker also went 1-for-3 with two runs and a stolen base.

Matthew Jordan went 2-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs and a run for Huntington. John Black and Caiden Stewart each batted in a run, while Corbin Long and Dalton Black each recorded a hit and a run.

Andrew Vickers and Cameron Stoops each recorded a hit for the Warriors, with Vickers' hit being a double. Vickers and David Magill each recorded a run, and Austin Magill batted in a run. Stoops also had a solid outing on the mound, pitching four innings and allowing two hits and one earned run.
