Route 23 in Wayne was completely shut down by accident, live wires on highway
Route 23 in Wayne was completely shut down with live wires in the roadway following a motor vehicle crash Thursday night, a police alert stated.
The Wayne Police Department tweeted shortly after the crash: "Traffic Advisory: Route 23 northbound and sound bound completely closed for a MVA with live wires down from Packanack Lake Rd to Alps Rd."
The accident occurred around 9 p.m., according to an advisory from the state DOT website. The highway was reopened on both sides by about 1:45 a.m. per an alert issued by Wayne police.
