Route 54 resurfacing project to continue

Apr. 13—RIVERSIDE — A resurfacing project will continue on Route 54 in Riverside Borough and Rush Township, Northumberland County next week.

A temporary barrier is in place along the westbound shoulder of Route 54 between Route 4001 (Sunbury Road) in Riverside and Route 2004 (Bowden Road) in Rush Township for the construction of a retaining wall, Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said.

Work will be performed between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday.

Single lane restrictions with flagging will be in place while work is being performed. Traffic will be shifted away from the barrier while a 12.2-foot width restriction is in place, though one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction, according to PennDOT.
