Attend a festival, watch a movie, or plan a date night at events happening in Springfield this weekend.

Route 66 Mother Road Festival

Watch vintage cars cruise in downtown Springfield at the 22nd Annual Route 66 Mother Road Festival this weekend.

The festival happens Friday from 6-10 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday 9 a.m.-noon in downtown Springfield at 1 Old Capitol Plaza.

Up to 2,000 cars will participate in the cruise and there will be live music from After Sunset, Union Avenue, Dejavoodoo, and the Neverly Brothers. There will also be a burnout competition and photo opportunities.

Hyvee movie night

Hyvee will host a Super Mario Brothers Movie Night on Friday.

The fun starts at 7 p.m. on the grocer's lawn at 2115 S. MacArthur Blvd.

Dinner from the Hyvee Grill will be available and there will be games and activities for children. A showing of the Super Mario Brothers movie begins at dusk.

Community baby shower

Celebrate new life and motherhood at the Second Annual Community Baby Shower on Saturday.

The shower happens from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 1600 Clearlake Ave.

There will be vendors, speakers, refreshments, and raffles with prizes. The first 100 mothers will receive a free diaper bag.

Supper and a song concert

Have a date night under the stars Saturday at the Supper and a Song Concert.

Dinner begins at 6 p.m. in the Knob Hill Outdoor Living Showroom located at 661 W. Sangamo Road.

Tickets are $100 and include a full farm-to-table dinner, two drink tickets, and a night of entertainment from Uncle Lucios and Wayward Motel.

Proceeds will benefit the Greater Springfield Chamber Foundation Business Scholarship Fund.

Chatham Paws-a-Palooza and Kite Up the Park Festival

Play with dogs and kites at the 4th annual Chatham Paws-a-Palooza and Kite Up the Park Festival on Sunday.

The event will run from noon-5 p.m. at the Chatham Community Park, 711 S. Park Ave.

There will be animal shelters, a dog pageant, pet-themed vendors, and stunt kite demonstrations. Solar Chariot and the Mary Jo Curry Band will perform. Food and drinks will be available. For more information visit www.facebook.com/chathamfriendsoftheparks
