The Route 79 expressway will soon be permanently closed.

On Feb. 27, the expressway will be shutdown and teams will begin a monthslong process of demolishing bridges and retaining walls, and removing the roadway.

This is the latest step in a four-year project that will transform the area into a street-level urban boulevard.

State Department of Revenue shuts down Graham's Hot Dogs in Fall River

A fixture on Bedford Street since 1962, Graham's Hot Dogs is currently closed.

They had to close down after the state Department of Revenue seized the business assets for nonpayment of taxes. A bright orange sticker is stuck to the window, indicating the business assets of owner Linda Seidl have been seized.

A message on Graham's Facebook page says they are "working hard to resolve the issue."

Fall River councilor Laliberte wants all charges dropped in love triangle harassment case

City Councilor Pam Laliberte has asked the Fall River District Court twice to dismiss two felonies in a love triangle harassment and obstruction criminal case, and recently filed a motion to also have the two misdemeanor charges dropped.

Laliberte’s criminal attorney, Frank Camera, filed the latest motion on Feb. 14 asking the court to dismiss charges of criminal harassment and making annoying telephone calls/electronic communications, both misdemeanors.

The Travel Channel's Shock Docs, which explores alleged paranormal happenings across the United States, will air a two-hour special on the Lizzie Borden House on March 5.
