Roxborough Church Now Offering Boxes Of Free Food

ROXBOROUGH, PHILADELPHIA — The Roxborough Church will now be offering boxes of free food as the City of Philadelphia expanded the availability of free food during the new coronavirus outbreak.

Initially, boxes of food supplies that will last five days were only available at 20 locations in the city. Now, 20 more locations were added to the list, giving residents 40 places to get the food.

Among the new 20 sites is the Roxborough Church, located at 8232 Ridge Ave.

The 20 new sites will open Thursday.

A full list of food sites is featured below.

At these 40 sites, residents of all ages can pick up a box of food (one box per household) on Mondays and Thursdays between 10 a.m. and noon.

Residents do not have to present ID or proof of income.

This effort is a partnership with the community-based sites, as well as Philabundance and Share Food Program.

The public is encouraged to verify sites by calling 311 or visiting phila.gov.

On Monday, March 30—the first day of distribution—20 food sites distributed 4,000 boxes of food.

These sites have been set up in addition to numerous schools offering meal pick up for children. See schools offering grab-and-go meals here.
