The Royal Family Sent Supportive Messages to Boris Johnson as He Recovers From Coronavirus

Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, and Prince William have come together to support Prime Minister Boris Johnson after he was moved to the ICU after his coronavirus conditions worsened.

Clarence House also confirmed to People that Prince Charles (who has recovered from the virus) and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, also sent well-wishes to Johnson and his family.

Prince William, on the other hand, opted for a public message, which he personally signed with a "W."

"Our thoughts are with the Prime Minister and his family, who like so many in the UK and around the world are affected by coronavirus," he wrote on behalf of himself and Kate Middleton. "We wish him a speedy recovery at this difficult time."

Johnson spent Monday evening in the intensive care unit after being testing positive for coronavirus. On Tuesday, a spokesman told BBC he was in stable condition.

On Sunday, the Queen gave a rare speech to address the coronavirus crisis.

"Together we are tackling this disease and I want to reassure you that if we remain united and resolute then we will overcome it," she said. "I hope in the years to come everyone will be able to take pride in how they responded to this challenge. And those who come after us will say that the Britons of this generation were as strong as any. That the attributes of self-discipline, of quiet good-humored resolve and of fellow-feeling still characterize this country. The pride in who we are is not a part of our past, it defines our present and our future."
