Royals invite fans to free event at Kauffman Stadium the day before season opener

Although the Royals open the 2023 season on March 30 with a game against the Minnesota Twins, fans can see the team a day earlier at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals will hold a team workout at the K on March 29, and the team has invited fans to watch. There is no cost to attend or park, although fans will need a ticket to enter Kauffman Stadium.

Those free tickets can be acquired Friday starting at 10 a.m. at www.royals.com/workoutday.

“We feel a lot of excitement here in camp as we work toward opening day,” Royals executive vice president/general manager J.J. Picollo said in a news release. “We’re all looking forward to getting back home and connecting with our great fans on this workout day and feel this will be a fun way to get things started in Kansas City.”

The Royals said there will a DJ will play music, some concession areas will be open and fans can stop in the team store at Kauffman Stadium.

Opening day

Tickets are still available for opening day at www.royals.com/tickets. First pitch is at 3:15 p.m.

A pregame concert by Brothers Osborne will be at 1 pm.

Fountain Pass

The Royals are bringing back their Fountain Pass ticket option. For $39.99 a month, a fan will gain entry to each Royals game including opening day. There are no blackout dates.

The Fountain Pass will give fans a standing-room ticket with an opportunity to upgrade to a seat an hour before the game begins, per the Royals website.
