Royse City-area police officers, firefighters recognized by chamber

Dec. 19—Each year, the Royse City Tri-County Chamber of Commerce dedicates it December luncheon to the area's police officers and firefighters.

Titled "Holidays & Heroes," this year's event recognized first responders who serve the cities of Royse City, Fate, Josephine, Nevada and Union Valley.

The police officers and firefighters of the year were as follows:

Fate

— Firefighter of the Year — Gary Wallace

— Police Officer of the Year — Zach Fish

Royse City

— Firefighter of the Year — Jackson Jacobs

— Police Officer of the Year — Detective Andrew Mason

Josephine

— Police Officer of the Year — Tyler Ellington

Nevada

— Firefighter of the Year — Robert Barrett

Union Valley

— Firefighter of the Year — Mark Besozzi

— Firefighter of the Year — Shannon Stephens

"The Royse City Chamber Holidays & Heroes Luncheon was one for the books," a Facebook post from the Chamber said. "We laughed and we celebrated some of the best."

"First, we want to say thank you to all the First Responders. We appreciate everything you do for us every day."
