- RTD is celebrating the A line's fifth anniversary. The commuter rail line has had more than 30 million riders and traveled close to 18 million miles. It's called the University of Colorado A Line officially. Opened April 22, 2016. The 23 mile long line connects Union Station to DIA, eight stops in between. August 2019 saw the highest ridership to date. More than 744,000 customers used the line that month. That was about 24,000 a day. And the average on time performance of the line in 2020 and '21 has been a very nice 98%.
