Ruby Tuesday Puts Mac ‘N Cheese on a Burger

Macaroni and cheese: it’s perhaps the ultimate in home-cooked comfort food. It’s a dish that transcends pasta to become something much gooer and greater than the sum of its parts. In short, it’s the kind of thing that’s delicious on its own and doesn’t need much help to thrive.

But what if, someone at Ruby Tuesday decided to ask, you could put mac and cheese on top of a burger? Well, that’s exactly what the casual restaurant chain named after a 1967 Rolling Stones song decided to do. As part of their new line of Classic Twists, they’ve schemed up the Mac ‘N Cheeseburger, which starts with a beef patty, tops it with the aforementioned mac and cheese, what looks like an additional slice of melty cheese(!), and bacon(!!) for the ultimate in decadent dining.

“At Ruby Tuesday, or focus is to provide super-craveable products with an emphasis on freshness, fun ingredients piled high, and quality,” Ruby Tuesday CMO Jenifer Boyd Harmon said in a statement quoted by Fox. In this case, that translates to a burger with an overwhelming amount of things happening inside it that probably requires a fork and knife to finish.

The Mac ‘N Cheeseburger wasn’t the only limited-edition foodstuff to hit the menu, however. Ruby Tuesday also unveiled the Hot Honey & Bacon Chicken Sandwich, which downright seems pedestrian by comparison, but still looks pretty good all the same.

You can get your hand on this bountiful blend of cheesy noodles and beef for $7.99 with a side of fries or tater tots that you probably won’t be able to finish. You’ll find these limited edition Classic Twists at 460 Ruby Tuesday locations nationwide. If you’re smart, you can turn this into a burger and get a second meal of mac and cheese out of the deal. That’s where the real value is.
