- Tries from wingers Alexis Palisson and Toby Arnold led Lyon to a 20-17 win over 2016 champions Racing 92 and top spot in France. Anthony Belleau again proved La Rochelle's tormentor as he guided Toulon to a 26-20 victory. Lyon shrugged off a 10-0 deficit after just 10 minutes to claim a first victory at Racing's Stade Yves-du-Manoir in 12 years. Meanwhile, Belleau notched up 14 points with his trusty right boot for Toulon. La Rochelle finished atop the regular season standings last season, only to be knocked out in the play-off semi-finals by Toulon thanks to a last-gasp Belleau drop-goal. Stade Francais, the 2015 champions, climbed out of the relegation zone with a morale-boosting 25-23 win at Pau.
