1. Step-father of Madalina Cojocari released on bond after 8 months in jail

The stepfather of Madalina Cojocari posted bond today and jail officials confirmed he’ll be released.

This comes just one day after Christopher Palmiter, 61, pleaded not guilty in court on charges he failed to report the 12-year-old missing.

2. New rule for Lake Norman boat rentals driven by recent drownings, accidents

Lake Norman is no stranger to drownings and boating accidents every summer.

New regulations, leaders hope, could stunt what has become a treacherous and tragic norm on the state’s largest man-made lake just north of Charlotte.

Panthers assistant defensive backs coach DeAngelo Hall chases dreams.

The Virginia native was a standout for the Virginia Tech Hokies before getting drafted eighth overall in the 2004 NFL draft. After a 14-year pro career with three different teams, Hall finds himself on the Panthers’ sidelines living out his passion for coaching.
