RUN THROUGH THE PARK: More than 400 stride out in beauteous Woolaroc environs

More than 420 runners congregated Saturday morning at the chapel of the outdoors in the Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve.

Each of the bright-eyed pacers put their best foot forward in the 41st Annual Run The Streets Woolaroc 8K event.

The course wound through much of the scenic backdrop of the historic facility, a turnaround point at the front gate.

Archer Bennett — who finished 2nd at last weekend's Woolaroc 8K — is shown running a few years ago. He captured the Class 6A boys 800m run state title during his senior year at Bartlesville High. He has gone on to run for the University of Tulsa and was selected for the conference All-Academic team.

Tulsa’s Ryan Fischer rounded out the top three (30:38).

Bartlesville’s Jessica Barr sped to the top female time (35:01), followed by Bartlesville High cross country runner Maryann Alvey (37:14) and Tulsa’s Elizabeth Menger (40:34).
