Who is running for Des Moines suburban city councils, mayor in the 2023 election
Dozens of City Council and mayoral positions in the Des Moines metro are up for election this year.
Only one community, Mitchellville, will have a new mayor. Jessica Trobaugh is running unopposed to lead the eastern suburb after Mayor Nicholas Murrow resigned to take a job in Missouri.
Other cities whose mayors are up for reelection have incumbent candidates who are running unopposed.
The election is Nov. 7.
Here's a look at the candidates:
