Who is running for Maryland governor, comptroller, attorney general

The filing date for Maryland's election is nearing the state's extended candidate deadline.

Voters will decide all 188 seats in the state legislature; statewide offices such as governor, attorney general and comptroller; a U.S. Senate seat and all eight congressional seats.

The Court of Appeals, while weighing in on the new Maryland Congressional Map, had already delayed the state’s primary for all elections from June 28 to July 19. Other important dates: Mail-in ballot for the Gubernatorial Primary Election must be received by July 12; and by Nov. 1 for the Gubernatorial General Election.

Despite the delays, endorsements have been rolling in. Maryland governor is term-limited, and so big changes are ahead for the state as Larry Hogan ends his time as governor.
