Who’s running for office in Charlotte? Here’s the sample ballot for 2023 election day

Election day is here with several races across Mecklenburg County, including the fate of future mayors, city council members and school board members.

Over 40,000 early voters have already cast their ballots, which is about 5.15% of the county’s eligible voters, The Charlotte Observer previously reported.

Polls will be open until 7:30 p.m. on election day, but you can get a full look at all of the races before you vote.

How to find a sample ballot

Voters can find sample ballots on the county Board of Elections website online at apps.meckboe.org/addressSearch_New.aspx. You can also search by name via the State Board of Elections at vt.ncsbe.gov/RegLkup.

What’s on the ballot in Mecklenburg County?

All voters in Mecklenburg County will get to vote on a $2.5 billion dollar school bond, and elect three at-large school board members, a mayor and four at-large City Council members, along with City Council races in Districts 3 and 6. City Council incumbents in Districts 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7 are unopposed in the general election. Here’s a look at who is on the ballot:
