Here is who is running for what seats in Wayne County in November

WOOSTER − The following candidates have filed for positions across Wayne County for the Nov. 7 election. School Board candidates and a full slate of issues, renewals and replacement levies also are on the ballot.

Nathan Shaker filed for the unexpired term of municipal court judge and Michael W. Rickett for municipal court judge.

Bob Reynolds (R) and Mary Reans filed for mayor of Wooster, while Greg Gehris filed as a write-in candidate.

Craig Sanders (R) filed for president of Wooster City Council. Michael F. Abernathy Jr. (R) and Bill Bostancic (D) filed for one Wooster council-at-large position.

In Wooster Ward 1, Lukas Gaffey and Michael Todaro filed for one council position. Chris Malta (R) filed for one position for Ward 3.

In Orrville, Matthew Plybon (R) filed for mayor and Paul Vance (R.) for president of Council. Seeking to fill a council-at-large unexpired term position on Orrville City Council are Rees H. Davies (R) and John C. Lorson (D). Kyle E. Shanklin filed for one other council-at-large position. C.J. Handwerk (R) filed for one Orrville Ward 1 position; Patricia K. Carr (R) for Ward 3; and Beverly Ann Squirrell for Ward 4.

For Rittman City Council G. Kevin Bower, Amanda Nelson, Richard Schumacher and Melissa Shows filed for three positions.

The mayor of Apple Creek position is being sought by Rodney E. Mackey and Mark T. Reichel.

In Creston, Thomas J. Barrett and Brenda A. Norris filed for mayor. Aaron Howell and Bradley Olenik (write-in) filed for two positions on Creston Village Council.

Candidates for Dalton, Doylestown, Fredericksburg

Dennis H. Finley and Blake D. Nussbaum filed for mayor of Dalton. Seeking two spots on Dalton Village Council are James T. Bucklew Jr., Cheryl Drew, David Gibson and Deanna Heck.

Filing for mayor of Doylestown is Terry L. Lindeman. Mark Hammer, Kay L. Kerr and Harold B. Rozak filed for two positions on Doylestown council.

Filing for two positions on Fredericksburg Village Council are Melissa I. Sidle (write-in) and Barbara Jean Spencer.

Ron J. Hatfield filed for mayor of Marshallville and Jesse E. Allison for two positions on Marshallville council.

Melissa Irwin filed for mayor of Mount Eaton, and Jessica Miller and Paige Miller for two positions on Mount Eaton council.

Two candidates filed for the mayor of Shreve − Yvonne M. Hendershott and Josiah Martin. Competing for two spots on Shreve council are Joshua Bevington, Heidi Garst and Brad Latimer.

Thomas R. Poulson filed for mayor of Smithville, and Patrick J. Finn and Adrienne A. Karlen are seeking two seats on Smithville council.

Three are in the running for mayor of West Salem − Chriss Crebs, Nick Harding and Dale Klinect. Filing for two seats on West Salem Village Council are Larry J. Crebs, Melissa Morr, Maretta Warner and Jennifer Wigal.

Here are the candidates for township seats

Mark W. Geiser and Mike Geiser filed for one position as Baughman Township trustee. Carolyn S. Baer (write-in) filed for Baughman Township fiscal officer.

James C. Murray filed for Canaan Township trustee, and Kelly Gasser for Canaan Township fiscal officer.

In Chester Township, Jerry Bowman and Chatfield Redick filed for one trustee position. Debbie Berger filed for Chester Township fiscal officer.

Steve Muller and Dominic Oliverio are seeking one position as Chippewa Township trustee, and Vicky DeAngelis filed for Chippewa Township fiscal officer.

Chad Zimmerly is on the ballot for Clinton Township trustee and Jessica L. Flinner for Clinton Township fiscal officer.

In Congress Township Bill Cletzer filed for trustee and Pam S. Haley as fiscal officer.

Blake Meier and Joseph A. Rabatin are seeking one position as East Union Township trustee. Valorie L. Lewis filed for the position of East Union Township fiscal officer.

Matt Grass and Tim Hastings filed for one position as Franklin Township Trustee, and David L Bricker filed for Franklin Township fiscal officer.

In Green Township, Scott D. Imhoff and George Tom Pertee filed for one position as trustee, and Donald Dravenstott for Green Township fiscal officer.

Josh Glessner and Greg R. Piatt filed for one position as Milton Township trustee and Jody Aubrey for Milton Township fiscal officer.

In Paint Township Marion Miller filed for trustee and Karen Raber for fiscal officer.

Ed Flinner filed for Plain Township trustee and Kevin M. Schmid for fiscal officer.

Kelly M. McKelvey filed for Salt Creek Township trustee and Rodney A. Lemon for fiscal officer.

Tom Gregory filed for one position as Sugar Creek Township trustee and Scott Feltis for an unexpired term as Sugar Creek Township trustee. Colleen Sprunger filed for fiscal officer of Sugar Creek Township.

Marlin Questel filed for Wayne Township trustee and Tammy E. Polen Wayne Township fiscal officer. In Wooster Township Steven D. Miller filed for trustee and Steven P. Zody for fiscal officer.

In school board races, Linda H. Fenn, Jeremiah Hershberger and John Mertic filed for two seats on the Chippewa School Board.

Seth Clark and Jeffrey Jager are seeking two seats on Dalton School Board.

Carrie Raber and Luke Steiner filed for two seats on Green School Board.

Rick Ellerbrock, John H. Smith and Brad Stull filed for three seats on Northwestern School Board.

For Norwayne School Board, Kirk W. Gasser, Doug Ingold and Angie Smith (write-in) filed for three seats.

Susan Corfman, Jamie Kovacs, Megan Middleton, Brent Miller and Jaclyn Sickman (write-in) are seeking two seats on Orrville School Board.

For Rittman School Board, Lona Renee Busic and Douglas G. Stuart filed for two seats.

Southeast School Board has five competitors for three open seats − Sandra Cerniglia, Brian R. Miller, Rick Reynolds, Cheryl J. Steiner and David D. Troyer.

Triway school board has two seats open for which four people filed − Tyler Bishko, Angie Giltner, Carrie Perkins and Travis Snyder1.

Wooster City Schools board has two seats open and four people who filed − Cody Austin, Rik Goodright, Joy Kleinhenz and Dennis Stauffer.

Susie Lawson filed for one seat on Tri-County Educational Service Center District 1; Nathan Stutz for District 2; R. Willard Welch for District 3, James Bargar for District 4; Ann L. Tschantz for District 5; Earl Rhamy for District 7; and John B. Burkey for District 9.

Townships, school districts, villages seek levies

Other issues on the ballot are a 1-mill renewal tax levy for five years in Canaan Township beginning in 2024 with collection in 2025 for general construction, resurfacing and repair of streets roads and bridges.

For the same purpose a 1.5 mil, five-year, renewal tax levy to begin in 2024 with collection in 2025 is on the ballot for East Union Township.

Cranston's Pub in Chippewa is seeking a local option for on/off-premises sales of wine and mixed beverages and on-premise sales of spirituous liquor on Sunday.

Bell Stores at 5 W. Buckeye St., West Salem, is seeking an option for off-premise sales of wine and mixed beverages on Sunday.

The Northwestern Local School District is seeking a 4-mill renewal tax levy for general permanent improvements to begin in 2024 and be collected in 2025; and the Triway Local School District is asking for a three-year, 2.8-mill renewal tax levy providing for the emergency requirements of the school district to begin in 2023 and be collected in 2024.

The Sterling Fire District is asking for a replacement and increase tax levy of 2 + 1 = 3 mills for fire and ambulance protection for five years beginning in 2024.

Wayne Care Center seeking renewal, local option requests

The Wayne County Care Center is requesting a 0.7-mill tax levy renewal for five years beginning in 2023 for the maintenance and operation of the facility.

On the ballot in Wooster are a natural gas aggregation and an electric aggregation.

Also on the ballot for Wooster are a local option request for The Lyric Theater of on/off premise sales of wine and mixed beverages and on-premise sales of spirituous liquor on Sunday; a local option for Bell Stores at 404 S. Market St., for off premise sales of wine and mixed beverages on Sunday; and a local option for Bell Stores at 220 S. Columbus St., for off premise sales of wine and mixed beverages on Sunday.

Dalton is requesting a natural gas aggregation for the incorporated areas of the village and an additional 0.5% income tax for fire safety services, emergency medical services and police services.

Marshallville has put on the ballot a replacement and increased tax levy of 1.8 + 8 = 9.8 mills for providing fire and emergency medical response services.
