Reality tv shows are many people's guilty pleasures and nothing beats sitting down to watch local people go head-to-head in competitions or learning about weird or scary goings-on right in your own town.

Here are just a few reality television shows that feature locals or take place right here in Shreveport that are currently available to stream.

Competitions

  • RuPaul's Drag Race - Shreveport drag star Chi Chi DeVayne competed on two seasons of the popular competition series. She competed first in season eight and again in 2018 for season three of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars. DeVayne died in 2020 at age 34. All seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race can be watched on Paramount Plus with a subscription

  • Toddlers & Tiaras - Season 5, episode 15 of the TLC show followed beauty queens Tori, Amiya and Jasmine as they battle it out to see who will reign supreme at the Miss Mardi Gras Madness Pageant in Shreveport. Episodes are available to purchase on Amazon Prime Video.

  • Baggage Battles - Season 2, episode 12 of this docu-reality show produced by The Travel Channel shows buyers attending a well-kept secret - a sheriff's auction in Shreveport. All episodes can be watched with a subscription to Discovery+.

  • Bayou Billionaires - The CMT show ran for two seasons and followed the Dowden family in Shreveport jumping up a few tax brackets after they discover their home was sitting on the fourth largest deposit of natural gas in the U.S. Episodes are available to purchase on Amazon Prime Video.

  • My 600lb Life - The newest season of the popular TLC show featured Shreveport local Latonya Pottain as she sought help from Dr. Nowzaradan in Houston to lose weight in order to walk down the aisle and marry the man of her dreams. Pottain is featured in episode two of season 11 and episodes are available to stream on Discovery+ with a subscription.

  • Say Yes to the Dress - In 2020 TLC's fan-favorite show featured Shreveport couple Michaela Smith and Emmanuel Abodoh as the bride searched for her fairy tale gown at the iconic Kleinfeld in New York City. The Abodoh's can be seen on the season 19 finale and episodes are available to stream on Discovery+ with a subscription.

True Crime

  • Murder Chose Me - This Investigation Discovery series is hosted by retired Shreveport homicide detective Rodney Demery and highlights the homicide cases he's worked on over 14 years. All three seasons can be streamed with a subscription to Discovery + or Hulu with Live TV.

  • Murder Goes Live - The Investigation Discovery show tells the story of Shreveport native and mother of three Rannita Williams who was shot inside of her home by her ex-boyfriend with her final moments captured on Facebook live. This can be watched with a subscription to Discovery+ or Hulu with Live TV.

  • Sins and Secrets - Season 1, episode 4 examines the death of Bubba Dooley who was the youngest son of a former sheriff. The police investigation eventually led to Bubba's wife and her boyfriend, but their case rests on the testimony of a potentially unreliable witness. All episodes can be watched with a subscription to Discovery+ or Hulu with Live TV.
