Rupert Grint Joined Instagram for the Best Reason

His first post is the cutest.

Harry Potter alum Rupert Grint has finally joined his fellow Hogwarts pals on Instagram — and he made his IG debut in the best way, showing off a photo of his daughter and letting the whole world know her name, Wednesday. Back on May 7, People confirmed that Grint and longtime girlfriend Georgia Groome welcomed a baby together, though details were sparse at the time.

Unlike his co-stars Emma Watson and Tom Felton, Grint (and Daniel Radcliffe) has managed to stay off social media almost entirely. In his post, he acknowledged that he was slightly late to the game and urged his 1.6 million followers to stay safe, likely referencing the COVID-19 pandemic, which many countries are still struggling with.

"Hey Instagram," Grint wrote. "Only 10 years late, but here I am. Grint on the Gram! Here to introduce you all to Wednesday G. Grint. Stay safe, Rupert."

People notes that Grint joins a few other Harry Potter cast members in welcoming babies this year. Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown, welcomed her third child, a son named Abraham "Bam" Benjamin, on October 21. Scarlett Byrne Hefner, the actor that played Pansy Parkinson in the franchise's final three films, welcomed daughter Betsy Rose on August 24. Devon Murray, who played Seamus Finnigan, announced that he and girlfriend, Shannon McCaffrey, are expecting their first child together in January 2021.
