Russia has up to 15,000 troops in occupied Kherson Oblast, says presidential advisor
“There are about 15 Battle Tactical Groups (BTG) trampling around there,” Arestovych said.
“These BTGs are already thinned out. If you multiply, then it’s 12 to 15 thousand troops. That's all there is."

The presidential advisor believes that these Russian forces will surrender even before the start of a Ukrainian offensive to regain control of the oblast, which has been occupied since nearly the start of the war – since the Ukrainians are already attacking their ammunition depots and command posts with the help of HIMARS multiple launcher rocket systems and artillery.
Minefields won’t help the Russians either, Arestovych added.
“They mined the routes of course, but we will find a way,” he said.
“In modern warfare, it is not the number of obstacles that works, but the will to win. When they scatter or stop resisting, we will pass the minefields somehow.”
On July 15, the head of the press center of the Ukrainian military’s Operational Command South, Natalia Humeniuk, reported that the Ukrainian military continues to advance on the Kherson axis.
