Two “airborne targets” were shot down by anti-aircraft defense systems over Russia’s Belgorod Oblast early in the morning on Feb. 1, claimed oblast Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov.
"Our air defense system intercepted two aircraft approaching the town of Stroitel in the Yakovlevsky district," Gladkov alleged.
Emergency services are currently assessing the ground impact, but preliminary reports suggest no casualties or damage, he claimed.
Russia’s Defense Ministry later reported the downing of four drones in the Belgorod Oblast and one in Kursk Oblast.
