Russia claims they will take people out of occupied Kupiansk

The so-called "authorities" in the Russian-occupied part of Kharkiv Oblast have announced that they will take women and children out of an area of occupied Kupiansk.

Details: According to Ganchev, the Kupiansk and Izium districts of Kharkiv Oblast are under constant shelling, so women and children at least will be taken out of Kupiansk. He did not specify where they plan to send them.

Background:

According to the Institute for the Study of War, Ukrainian forces in southeastern Kharkiv Oblast are likely exploiting Russian force reallocation to the Southern Axis to conduct a highly effective counteroffensive northwest of Izium. Ukrainian forces advanced at least 20 km into Russian-held territory in eastern Kharkiv Oblast on 7 September, recapturing approximately 400 square kilometres of ground.
