A new private military company has been created under the direct supervision of the Russian Defense Ministry to attract Wagner mercenary, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's National Resistance Center reported on Sept. 16.

The Russian Ministry of Defense is sending its representatives to Belarus and African countries, including Algeria, Mali, and Sudan, to convince as many Wagner mercenaries as possible to sign contracts with the Russian armed forces through the new company.

According to preliminary data, the former commander of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS), Sergei Surovikin, has been made responsible for the creation of the new mercenary company.

The National Resistance Center notes that this means that the competition for trained human resources continues between the Belarusian PMC GuardService and the newly created Russian PMC.

Earlier, Surovikin was spotted in Algeria, having arrived there with a delegation from the Russian Defense Ministry. At the time, a member of the State Duma Defense Committee, General Andrei Gurulov, said that Surovikin was "trying to realize himself in Africa."
