Russia declares ‘indefinite’ regime of terrorist alert in border oblast of Belgorod
Early in the morning of Feb. 4, Gladkov announced that the yellow (high) level of terrorist alert introduced earlier in the region would now be in place indefinitely. He promised to relax the restrictive measures “as soon as the situation improves.”

This was preceded by yet another series of explosions which took place in the village of Borisovka, about 40 kilometers west of the city of Belgorod in the early hours of Feb. 4, when an oil depot caught fire, with several oil tanks going up in flames.
Local authorities also reported that a factory in the village that makes metal constructions also caught fire. The factory, which is about 2 kilometers from the oil depot, makes constructions that have been used in the Kerch Bridge in Ukraine’s Russian-occupied Crimea, media reported.
As of the morning of Feb. 4, the fire was reportedly contained and its liquidation is currently underway. The Russian authorities reported that there were no casualties due to the incident.
Previously, the “yellow” regime of terrorist alert was made “indefinite” in the Kursk and Bryansk oblasts, which also border Ukraine.
