Russia loses 6,000 units of equipment, suffering from lack of spare parts — NYT
The document says that, according to the United States, due to sanctions, as early as May Russia began to experience a shortage of "critical" supplies for diesel engines, parts for helicopters and aircraft engines, and tanks.

According to the NYT, due to export controls, Russia's ability to produce high-precision weapons has suffered. Moscow also has problems with less advanced technologies: due to a lack of bearings, the aggressor has difficulties with the production and repair of tanks, aircraft, submarines, etc.
According to the U.S. government, Russian special services were ordered to illegally purchase Western technologies and components to circumvent sanctions. Russia also turned to Iran and North Korea, which are themselves under Western sanctions.
Washington has since imposed sanctions on Iranian companies producing drones that Moscow purchased for use against Ukraine.
A U.S. official said that now the main task of the international coalition is to find ways to prevent Russia from producing more munitions. The NYT article says that Washington is looking for other weaknesses, such as ball bearings or fasteners, that could make it harder to produce military goods for the aggressor state.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost more than 15,000 pieces of equipment in Ukraine, as well as about 64,300 of its soldiers.
