Russia will not pay conscripts from occupied Luhansk Oblast without Russian passport

Russian authorities are threatening conscripts in occupied Luhansk Oblast with not being paid for their participation in the war if they do not have a Russian passport.

Details: It is noted that the military leadership of the Russian Federation requires conscripts to sign long-term contracts for military service in the Russian army.

For this purpose, it is necessary to have a Russian passport, among other documents.

Otherwise, servicemen and their families are threatened with the denial of all established payments and social protection.

The Oblast Military Administration also reported that about 500 women appealed to the Russian leadership with the claim that Russian legislation does not apply in the occupied territories of Luhansk Oblast.

The claim is that the military command allegedly does not accept retirement statements from men based on their age.

Background: Almost half of the soldiers mobilised in Russia whose names have been identified by the Russian BBC service died in 2023.
