"The Russian occupation administration needs to report on combating the (Ukrainian) resistance, so they decided to search for previous anti-terrorist operation participants in temporarily occupied areas of Kherson (Oblast)," the statement reads.

To that end, Russian troops raided villages in Skadovsk and Kakhovka districts, where they were looking for ATO veterans and their family members.

"However, the enemy does not understand that they are occupiers for the majority of the population and therefore everyone under occupation is working to liberate their native lands," the message added.

Earlier, the National Resistance Center reported that the Russian occupation administration in Crimea is stepping up its "counter-sabotage" measures. The Ukrainian resistance on the peninsula has recorded an increase in the number of arrests and military draft notices issued to Crimean Tatars.
