The assessment notes that Russia attempted several assaults near Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast, but their advance was very slow.

“As briefed by Ukrainian authorities last week, Russia is likely reallocating a significant number of its forces from the northern Donbas sector to southern Ukraine,” the message said.

The MoD report also suggested that Moscow has identified Zaporizhzhia Oblast as a weak point, in need of further reinforcements.
