Russia launched missiles and drones at the city of Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in a heavy air attack in the early hours of Oct. 21, resulting in significant damage to an industrial facility in the area.

Serhiy Lysak, the head of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Military Administration, confirmed the attack, reporting that a fire had broken out at the targeted industrial site but that the blaze had been quickly extinguished.

There were no reports of casualties or injuries stemming from the overnight Russian attack. In other areas of the region, the night passed without any incidents.

However, Lysak noted that a separate attack the previous evening, on Oct. 20, had resulted in damage to three houses within a local private housing cooperative. Unfortunately, the evening attack on the private housing cooperative in Kryvyi Rih resulted in the loss of a 60-year-old man’s life, while his 57-year-old wife sustained shrapnel wounds.

Tensions in the region was palpable, as air raid alarms were sounded in several Ukrainian oblasts on the evening of Oct. 20, due to the threat of Russian missile attacks.

Dmytro Neveselyi, the head of the Zelenodolska municipal territorial community, also reported the activation of air defense systems in Kryvorizhskyi District, the area around the city of Kryvyi Rih.
