Russia sweeping Mariupol for pro-Ukrainian civilians – report

In occupied Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, Russian forces have intensified their search for pro-Ukrainian residents, looking for civilians who are supplying Kyiv’s military with intelligence, Ukraine’s General Staff reported via Facebook on July 13.

According to the General Staff, Russian occupation regime has intensified counterintelligence measures and is conducting large-scale raids in residential buildings and apartments of locals, checking personal documents and mobile devices.

The Russians are doing this to intimidate the local population and identify those who support and actively help the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

On June 25, the National Resistance Center reported that in Mariupol, the Russians are checking teenagers for involvement in the underground partisan movement.
