Russia’s Taganrog rattled by explosions at city airport – photos
A powerful explosion near Taganrog’s local airport shook the city in Russia’s Rostov Oblast on Nov. 7, according to reports in local media.
The blast reportedly occurred at 9:50 a.m. local time, causing homes, windows, and the ground to tremble after a shockwave.
Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, which is located around 100km from Taganrog, said that helicopters at the airport were burning.
The Russians use Taganrog airport as a base for helicopter units, anti-aircraft defense systems, and equipment, which are later transferred to Ukraine.
