Oleksii Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council (RNBO) of Ukraine, has stated that power in Russia is passing into the hands of a criminal and terrorist group and the country is turning into a failed state.

Quote from Danilov: "The Kremlin is at the stage of losing control. Power in the Russian Federation is rapidly passing into the hands of a criminal and terrorist group, security functions are delegated to Kadyrov’s punitive squads and Prigozhin’s convicts [reference to the fact that the Russian private military company Wagner Group is recruiting convicts to its ranks].

The Russian Federation has turned into a typical failed state. Next is destabilisation, dismantling, de-Putinisation [removal of the influence of Vladimir Putin from politics]."

Background: The Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine has expressed an opinion that Russia has entered a strategic Zugzwang [a term derived from chess - ed.] phase of the war, where every move worsens its situation and brings it closer to the end.

Earlier, Danilov said that Russia has initiated the process of its own decolonisation by launching a full-scale war against Ukraine.
