Russia wants to impose fines for maps that dont show occupied Crimea as Russian territory

Members of Russia's State Duma are proposing to impose fines for distributing maps where the occupied regions, including Crimea, are not marked as Russian territory.

Details: Members of the Russian Parliament have introduced a bill to the State Duma proposing the recognition of maps, images and other documents that deny the territorial integrity of Russia as extremist materials. A fine or a 15-day confinement may be imposed for the dissemination of such maps. The fine may reach 1 million roubles [approximately US$ 16,500] for legal persons.
Members of the Russian Parliament claim that "maps and other images that deny the territorial affiliation of Crimea and the Kuril Islands are being actively distributed" in Russia as of late.
Background: At the second summit of the international Crimean Platform in Kyiv, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, informed the participants that Ukraine would reclaim occupied Crimea and will become an EU member state.
