British intelligence suggests that the offensive of Russian forces near Bakhmut is losing momentum

UK intelligence said that over recent days Ukrainian forces initiated a local counterattack to the west of Bakhmut, which is likely to relieve pressure on the threatened H-32 supply route.

At the same time, fighting continues around the town center and the Ukrainian defense there remains at risk from envelopment from the north and south.

“However, there is a realistic possibility that the Russian assault on the town is losing the limited momentum it had obtained, partially because some Russian MoD (Ministry of Defense) units have been reallocated to other sectors,” the ministry said in its daily summary.

Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Malyar said on March 14 that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had “some significant successes” to the north of Bakhmut.

According to Malyar, the Russian invaders are being destroyed in Bakhmuten masse, reducing their offensive capabilities.

There was also unanimous agreement to continue with the defense of Bakhmut at a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on March 14.
